Clarke, Harry (26). Private, 27752, 4th Bn., South Wales Borderers. Died of wounds 05/03/1917. Buried Amara War Cemetery, Iraq. Grave: IV. A. 10. Son of Richard and Annie Clarke, of Lyneal Mill, Ellesmere, Salop.

Clawley, John Owen (20). Private, 2698, 1st/3rd Bn., Shropshire Yeomanry. Killed in action 24/08/1916. Buried Blighty Valley Cemetery, Authuile Wood, France. Grave: I. C. 26. Son of Owen and Elizabeth Clawley, of Pikes End Cottage, Ellesmere, Salop.
* John was one of the first Shropshire Yeomanry casualties of the war.
